It was 4:15 PM. on Friday afternoon when the phone rang at Creative MediaWorks. Our client, a medical communications company needed our help delivering an important project—324 complex PowerPoint slides were needed for their pharmaceutical client by 3:00 PM Monday. A big job? Sure. Do-able? Absolutely! We immediately scheduled our staff for a late night and set right to work.
Planning the Work
While project managers received, clarified, organized and prepared client input and data, our PowerPoint specialists immediately put together a style reference guide defining chart colors, drug-specific colors, text highlight colors and style/placement standards for footnotes and subtitles. Within 2 hours, we were ready to go with the client’s full approval—and more importantly, their confidence.
Setting the Plan in Action
By Friday night, our PowerPoint experts were busy formatting slides. Early Saturday morning, they returned—with our AMA proofreader. Together, the team worked into Sunday—never sacrificing speed or accuracy. As they began to see the light at the end of the tunnel, an additional 85 slides arrived unannounced on Sunday evening. Fortunately, the processes established paid off as the new work was simply merged in with the rest.
By Sunday afternoon, the project manager had e-mailed three-quarters of the finished work back to the client—a full day ahead of schedule. By early afternoon on Monday, everything was formatted, proofed and e-mailed to the client.
Even as incoming work and client edits "leapfrogged" with outgoing proofs and slide decks, every deadline was met or beat. Quality and accuracy never lagged—and a planned comprehensive slide review on Tuesday went off without a hitch.
As new and unexpected work continued to appear, the CMW team treated every slide as if it was due ASAP. Perhaps more importantly, no ongoing project for any other client was delayed or compromised during this project—all part of the CMW philosophy of achieving the highest levels of client satisfaction while producing excellent quality graphic media on-time.
